Expert cosmetic facial surgery in Marina Del Rey
With the general population spending more and more time out of doors, the effects of exposure and age are common among the population in the Los Angeles area. Additionally, stress, age, diet and smoking or alcohol consumption can all play a role in the condition of the skin of your face. That’s why facelift surgery is one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries. Facelifts repair loose skin, reposition the deeper tissues of the face, and reduce wrinkles and deep lines. They can also treat severe facial and neck skin sagging, and give you a more youthful look. Let us help you have a fresh, natural look you’ll love.
Am I a candidate for a facelift surgery?
If you have started to notice some signs of aging, including sagging skin, or if you have recently lost weight, then you may be a good candidate for facelift surgery. Patients are generally aged 40 and older, but whether surgery is appropriate for you depends on your overall condition and health. When you come into a consultation to see if a facelift is right for you, we will evaluate your family history, medical history, skin elasticity, bone structure, wrinkles, and the hairline. We will show you our anticipated results, and then create a plan for surgery that will give you the look you want.
What happens in the facelift surgery?
The facelift surgery performed by the Del Rey Aesthetics Center’s board-certified surgeons is the most advanced technique practiced today. We use small incisions in areas where they are naturally hidden. Areas of skin which are slack may be filled with fat or other material, and we will tighten muscles and ligaments to firm and reshape the skin. This thorough reshaping ensures that your facelift surgery will give you lasting results.
What is the recovery from facelift surgery?
Depending on the extent of your facelift surgery, you can resume some of your regular activities within two weeks of surgery. You will be given prescription pain medications, but there is minimal pain and you may manage discomfort with over-the-counter medications. You’ll need to have bandages over the surgical sites, but can talk and eat normally. Once swelling goes down after about two weeks, you can begin your normal activities. The full results will be visible by about 6 months after surgery.
